How Copy Trading Works
The copy flow, which orders get copied, copy modes, cross-platform mapping, and per-follower multipliers.
The Copy Flow
- You place a trade on the leader account on your broker's platform.
- Wogul's WebSocket connection detects the order and the position change in real time.
- The copy engine works out the contract and quantity for each follower from the copy mode and that follower's multiplier.
- Orders are placed on every follower simultaneously, typically under one second end-to-end.
Wogul uses both position-based and order-based detection to ensure no trade is missed.
What Gets Copied
Market, limit, stop, stop-limit, MIT, and trailing stop orders are copied to followers. When you modify or cancel a working order on the leader, the followers' matching orders are modified or cancelled too. Exits are copied like any other order, and Close Followers when Leader Exits flattens followers the moment the leader is flat.
Order types outside that list are skipped and logged in the terminal. If Wogul cannot identify a leader order's type at all, it halts the group rather than guess, because a misread closing order could put followers on the wrong side.
Copy Modes
- Mirror: followers trade the exact same contract as the leader. Leader trades ES, follower trades ES.
- Micro: followers trade the micro version at the same quantity. Leader trades ES, follower trades MES.
- Mini: followers trade the full-size version at the same quantity. Leader trades MES, follower trades ES.

Micro and Mini only apply to the families above. For any other symbol the follower trades the leader's contract as if in Mirror mode. The contract month always matches the leader.
Cross-Platform Copying
A copy group can mix Tradovate and TopstepX accounts in any combination. Wogul translates the leader's contract into each follower's platform format automatically, so a Tradovate leader can feed TopstepX followers and vice versa without any setup.
Per-Follower Multipliers
Each follower has its own multiplier, a whole number applied after the copy mode. 1x copies the exact quantity, 2x doubles it, 3x triples it. Multipliers start at 1x; to trade smaller than the leader, use Micro mode.

As a safety net, no single follower order can exceed 500 contracts regardless of multiplier.
