Safety Features
Circuit breaker, automatic halts, Flatten, crash recovery, rate limit awareness, and notifications.
Circuit Breaker
If 7 of the last 10 copy attempts fail for a single follower, the circuit breaker trips and Wogul stops sending orders to that follower. Other followers in the group are unaffected. Pause and resume the group to reset it.
Investigate before resetting. Common causes: the follower disconnected, insufficient margin, or the account is in a restricted state.
Automatic Halts
Where the circuit breaker protects one follower, a halt freezes a whole group. Wogul halts when a broker connection's authentication breaks and cannot be renewed, when a leader order cannot be identified, or when a copy would put a follower on the wrong side of the market. The reason is shown on the group and remembered across restarts. Read it, fix the cause, and resume.
Flatten
- Flatten on an account closes every open position and cancels every working order on that one account.
- Flatten All, the red button in the sidebar, does the same across every connected account on Tradovate and TopstepX at once.
Flatten cannot be undone. Positions close at market price and pending orders are cancelled. Use Flatten All only in emergencies.
Crash Recovery
Every copy is written to Wogul's local database before it is sent to the broker. If Wogul crashes, nothing is lost. On restart it reloads its state, marks any copy that was still pending as unknown so you can check it, and lets Smart Sync reconcile follower positions against the leader.
Rate Limit Awareness
| Window | Limit | Warning At | Block At |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per minute | 80 requests | 80% (64) | 95% (76) |
| Per hour | 5,000 requests | 80% (4,000) | 95% (4,750) |
Wogul tracks Tradovate's rate limits automatically and shows current usage on each connection. Warnings appear at 80%; at 95%, non-essential requests are held back so copies keep going through and the account is never locked out. TopstepX has no server-side rate limits.
Notifications
Wogul raises an in-app toast for authentication problems, disconnects, rate limits, rejected orders, and contracts it could not map. When the window is in the background or minimized to the tray, the same alert arrives as a desktop notification; click it to bring Wogul forward. Repeats of the same alert are throttled so a reconnect loop never floods you.
